I know this post is coming a bit late but a lot of people are busy attending galas or preparing for their company’s end of year event. So now that I have gotten all my gift guides out of the way it is time to discuss holiday party dresses. Many people (especially me) look forward to this time of year to unwind and have some fun with family and friends. The time to let go of all the things that wasn’t accomplished in the old year and to start creating new goals for the new year. Regardless of the type of the occasion, looking your best on that night is what matters.

New Years Eve Dresses
Who doesn’t love attending New Years Eve parties? Depending on the venue of the party, you would need to dress accordingly. You may require just a simple knee-high cocktail dress or something a little more formal. Metallics, lace, velvet, sequins or a touch of fur are appropriate to wear during this season. While red, green, black and navy tend to be the popular colour choices for most people.

Little Black Dresses
If you want to keep your look simple then you can wear a plain or patterned little black dress. Especially when you are unsure about how casual or formal the event is, black is a safe option. Whether long or short, little black dresses look very elegant.

The most important accessory to go with your holiday party outfit is your purse. Choose one that would make your outfit pop such as a silver sequins purse with a solid black dress. Use a small enough bag that can hold your essentials and that you can hold in your hand or has a thin strap. Avoid using a bag that looks exactly like what you are wearing.
More and more people are moving away from the traditional dresses for end of year parties and are dressing up in maxi skirts and tops, jumpsuits and pants suits. Whatever you decide to wear ensure that it is in keeping with the theme and holiday vibe.1
