About The Brand
Recently I have had the pleasure of working with the brand Cosmedix. Let me tell you a little more about the company before I start with the review.
Cosmedix is a skin care brand founded by skincare professionals which caters to all skin types. Their products are cruelty free; free from sulfate, parabens, artificial dyes and fragrances. Instead, they use natural plant-based ingredients. Products are widely available for different purposes such as cleansing and moisturizing. Not to mention, other products like serums, toners and treatments for lines and wrinkles. They sent me 2 items to review, which works hand in hand. One of them is to clarify, while the other is to restore and hydrate.
CLEAR Deep Cleansing Mask
It says clear but the colour of the actual product when applied to the face is green. CLEAR deep cleanses the skin from dirt, oil and makeup. Draws out clogging impurities, while improving the texture and tone of the skin. Contains pure kaolin clay, acne fighting salicylic acid and detoxifying niacinamide. You should know that this product gives a slight burning sensation after applying it so do not apply too close to your eyes.
Other Product Details:
- Retails for $42
- Comes in a 2oz tube
- Has a fragrance
RESTORE Moisture-Rich Mask
Works to visually plump the skin with moisture, smoothing out the appearance of wrinkles and improving texture look. Ingredients contains mango seed butter, squalane and sodium hyaluronate. What I noticed with this product is that it leaves my face feeling very silky and moisturized. So that I do not necessarily have to use any other face moisturizer especially at nights.
- Retails for $54
- Comes in a 2oz size tube
- Also has a fragrance
Mint green silicone spatula: this came free with the two masks mentioned above and promises a mess-free application. I love the fact that it has a flat applicator and the silicone makes the product glide on and rinse off easily.
How To Use The Products:
Pour about a quarter size of CLEAR onto the spatula then apply to t-zone area. Then using the RESTORE, pour the same amount on the spatula but this time only applying to the cheeks and sides of the forehead. Blend product in with the applicator if necessary and leave both masks on for 15 minutes then rinse with warm water. By using the products together they target and address the concerns in the particular facial zones.
Not too basic and not over the top but still gives that high-end feel and look.
Pros/What I Liked Most
- Economically priced for all budgets
- Targets different facial zones
- Good size for the price
- Bonus spatula applicator which helps prevent wastage of products
- Face looks clean and feels smooth and moisturized
- Smells great
- Consistency of the RESTORE mask could be a bit thicker
My Overall Thoughts
Great price point when compared to other brands offering similar products on par in quality. A 2oz size tube is not that bad either when compared to some other brands. A little bit of product goes a long way and because it comes with a silicone applicator, products can be applied sparingly. The consistency of the restore mask is not as thick as I expected, but it is not too runny either. I love the fact that it comes with a free applicator so that more dirt doesn’t get on my face by if I were to use my hands. Both products have a sweet fragrance but nothing to worry about since they were made from all natural sources. Personally, I would definitely try other products from this company again.
