This life-changing decision was tough but at the end I was able to save a ton of money.

Cinema Movie Tickets
As much as I miss going to the cinema every now and again, I do enjoy watching a Netflix series or movie. So until something better replaces it, I’m not ready to give up that subscription yet!
It’s been so long since I dined out that I can’t remember when was the last time and although its nice to eat out at your favourite restaurant occasionally, I don’t really miss doing it.

Handbags is the main thing I stopped buying to save money because I have way too many that I don’t use. Most times when I am going out I end up using the same couple of bags over and over. What I try to do now is buy key investment pieces that could possibly become family heirlooms one day.
Buying Starbucks Coffee Everyday
Coming from a Starbucks junkie and latte lover, you can imagine how hard this one was for me. Those $4-$5 on a cup of Starbucks Cinnamon Dolce latte with almond milk everyday racked up a pretty dime. Now I only buy Starbucks Coffee on occasions.
In the moment it seemed like it was only $4 but when I checked it up, that’s about $80 every month for the work week. Which doesn’t even factor in whenever I may buy on a weekend. Eventually I invested in a Dolce Gusto coffee maker which is what I used for my daily fill.
Have you ever joined a gym, paid for the month and probably only went to the gym twice? Umm yeah me too and its a total waste of money. So now I enjoy the gym that is in my building for free and I can use it anytime I want. When I get tired of the gym I switch up my routine by going for long walks.
If I give up my cable subscription I would save around $45 per month. Due to the fact that I hardly ever watch cable tv and I have a Netflix subscription as well as Amazon Prime movies which I don’t utilize. In the event that I want to have more options, I can purchase an Amazon Fire Stick to be able to stream online for free.
Buying Fast Food
Not buying so much fast food was one of the best decisions I made regarding my wellbeing. It was definitely one of the first things on this list that I stopped buying to save money. Since I cook 95% of my own food, this has saved me hundreds of dollars that I would have been spending otherwise.

I won’t go into detail about how much money I spent on subscriptions that I don’t currently use. At the time I bought into the hype or thought it was necessary but after a while I realised those poor decisions were hurting my pocket.
I couldn’t reach my saving goal by having all of those unused subscriptions just to keep up with “being a part of something”.
I am a huge football and Barcelona fan and there was a time when I used to go crazy over FCB Barcelona collectables. A lot of it were unnecessary and I think my collection is good enough with what I already have. Also, since I spend my time more wisely now, football has since taken a back burner.
Ever bought something then quickly realised the desire to own it has gone? Or that you really didn’t need the item to begin with? Well that is exactly how I feel about some Apple gadgets. Hands down they have some of the best devices and make connectivity between them seamlessly.
But I had to put a stop to buying more Apple gadgets before I go broke. However, sometimes it can be really hard to resist the temptation of buying more.
In a nutshell, those are the 10 things I stopped buying to save money in 2019. Hope you can use this list as motivation to cut back on your bad spending habits. Are there any things you need to cut back spending on this year? Let me know down in the comments and remember to give this post a share if you liked it. TIA!28
