Colourpop Liquid Lipstick vs Kylie Cosmetics | Review

Sharing is caring!

Creme Lipstick or Liquid

More and more people everyday are switching to the new trend of the Liquid Lipstick. This does not mean that creme lipsticks have become redundant. Brands like MAC Cosmetics and Sacha Cosmetics have been really smart to continue manufacturing both, leaving it up to the likes of their customers to purchase which one they fancy.

So if you are the old school type woman or liquid lipstick is just not your preference, then that is not a problem at all. You don’t have to worry about switching to another Brand either because as I said above, most of the lipsticks are available in both creme and liquid form in the exact shades. Creme lipsticks are here to stay!

Colourpop vs Kylie Cosmetics Liquid Lipstick

I use liquid lipsticks from Colourpop Cosmetics and Kylie Cosmetics and after a few months of using them I wanted to do a brief comparison review of the two Brands who have been buzzing all over Social Media.

I know judging by the title of this post you must be thinking how can I ever compare these 2 Brands when they are not exactly in the same “league”! Well its almost like comparing apples to oranges lol. But honestly speaking, all I am going to do is list the attributes of both products based on my experience, for the benefit of those of you who have never tried any of these Brands.

PROS of using Colourpop:

  1. Matte and creamy
  2. Dries quickly
  3. Inexpensive

CONS

  1. Leaves lips feeling chappy & dry
  2. Lasts about 3 hours before touching up required
  3. Doesn’t have a fragrance nor pleasant smell
  4. Starts peeling off the lips after a while

PROS of using Kylie Cosmetics:

  1. Matte and creamy
  2. Dries quickly
  3. Lasts about 5 hours before touching up required
  4. Cute packaging
  5. Love the smell (makes me feel like eating it)

CONS

  1. Expensive

In conclusion, they are both beautiful products. You get exactly what you pay for! I am not discrediting any of the Brands mentioned above in any way. All the view expressed in this post are my own unbiased views. This is not a sponsored post.

  • i only got myself some kylie liquid lipsticks and i was a bit disappointed. the light colours are great but the dark ones are so patchy and crumbly. also, they are a pain to take off. the lighter colours are lovely though.

  • Hmmm so the Kylie cosmetics are worth the cash! I hadn’t bothered buying any thinking they may just be over hyped?!

Hi Tiffany. I thought it was over hyped as well until I tried it. I really can’t say anything bad about it. 🙂

  • Interesting! Makes me want to try Kylie Cosmetics 🙂

      That’s nice! Enjoy!

  • Great comparison! For me personally i prefer the color pop ones because they are more affordable.

Thanks Claire. That is quite ok. I use them as well. These are just my observations. 🙂

  • I used to love Colourpop but I’m used to quick shipping and they just take too long. I know 5-7 days isn’t forever but it’s made in the U.S. lol. Anyways I love this post and it’s a good comparison.

Thank you Amber! I also hate having to wait up to 7 days for an item. Its normal to wait 3 days max lol.

Thanks for this review because I though colour pop was good but seeing the pro and cons really helps. I only have four.

    • Shevy

You’re welcome my dear. The ones I have in the picture from ColourPop are the only products I ever bought from them and it was just that 1 time lol.

  • I am definitely gonna try out that Kylie product. I rather have something that is expensive but won’t dry out my lips. Lol.

    • Shevy

Hi Isaly I have to agree with you!
